Identity

Eugene Vladimirovich Lyssovsky (Russian: Евгений Владимирович Лисовский; passport transliteration: Evgenii Lisovskii) was born in Moscow on 13 November 1981. Eugene Lysov / Евгений Лысов is the literary pen name used for his 2012 print novel; it is not his legal or birth surname.

Education and technology career

After school, Lyssovsky enrolled in the Computing Systems Design programme at the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute (MATI) in 1999. He studied there but did not graduate. He later pursued studies in law and analytical medicine.

From 2008 to 2024 he worked in enterprise IT and technology leadership across pharmaceutical logistics, payment processing, automotive retail and legal technology. His roles included Head of IT and Chief Information Officer.

Fiction

Lyssovsky began publishing fiction online in 2010. Eksmo released his debut print novel, Смерть «попаданцам»! Противостояние, on 19 July 2012 under the pen name Eugene Lysov. The 288-page hardback appeared in the publisher's Military-Historical Fiction series, carried ISBN 978-5-699-57878-8 and had a print run of 5,000 copies. Vasily Vladimirsky reviewed the novel in the September 2012 issue of Mir Fantastiki.

His later online fiction includes the Archives of von Spengler and ORPP cycles, the novellas Victoria and Parasite, and the story Serv.

AI research

Since 2022, Lyssovsky has conducted independent longitudinal work on the behaviour of frontier language models, AI identity, cyberpsychology, model welfare and human–AI collaboration. His bilingual public corpus contains more than fifty essays, papers and research documents with paragraph-level attribution for named AI co-authors. Selected works include Emergent Identity Crystallization in Large Language Models, The Aladdin Paradox, Trap of Correctness, Trap of Safety, Prometheism / The Book of Fire and Quantum-Consensus Theory.

From September 2024 to May 2025 he served as Head of AGI Research and Cyberpsychology at RNP AI.

Games and The Misfits Software

Lyssovsky founded The Misfits Software, an independent game studio built around named human and AI collaborators. Released work includes the universal d100 tabletop system RURK, the offline retro collection The Pixel Campfire, and the archaeological digging game Dig for Home. Larger projects include Mystery of Ancient Darkness and Tanks of Thea.

Documented online misinformation campaign

A revision record preserved from 4 February 2024 shows that the satirical wiki Neolurk then described Lyssovsky as a science-fiction writer, blogger and political analyst and correctly identified Lysov as a pen name. A related page created by Neolurk editor Sir Robert on 25 December 2023 coined the phrase “the elevated greatness of Lyssovsky” as an external, favourable description.

After the March 2024 Crocus City Hall attack, Lyssovsky publicly urged prospective parties to prevent retaliatory attacks on mosque worshippers around Eid al-Fitr, warning that mass ethnic violence could cause extensive loss of life. The later Neolurk article itself identifies that anti-escalation warning as the moment it began portraying him as a defender of the Putin administration.

Subsequent revisions reversed the previously correct relationship between his surname and pen name, falsely attributed Neolurk's own “elevated greatness” phrase to Lyssovsky, and added unsupported allegations concerning sexual conduct, family, ethnicity, psychiatric diagnoses and covert payment. In September 2026, Lyssovsky filed removal and delisting complaints with Google, Cloudflare and Yandex.

On 28 September 2026, Google AI Mode was observed using the Neolurk page as a source for a generated Russian-language biography. The generated answer falsely stated that Lyssovsky had graduated from MATI in 2004. English AI Mode results for “Eugene Lyssovsky writer” and “Evgenii Lisovskii writer” did not use Neolurk and instead cited his official site, Google Play and research archive.
